I finally got around to changing the lock on the door and, with
the help of my son-in-law, I was successful in installing the Lockey keyless lock...it
is working very nicely. IÂ’m looking forward to many years of easy-entry
to my house! Thanks for all your help!!

I looked all over town for hardware to fit a storm door when ours broke...
I was very pleased with the quality and it fit perfect. It is heavy and the finish
is very nice...the easy instructions and helpful diagrams on the website made
picking out what we needed to make sure it fit a snap. Thanks Home Products N

Thank you so much, Ellen - you are,
without doubt, the most helpful online resource person I have ever encountered.
And I have ordered my plaque - and transformer. Really appreciated the description
of the colors, too. If you ever need a reference, tell 'em to call me. I'll give
you a great one!
What is the difference between surface
mount locksets and mortised locksets?
Mortised lock sets have a mechanical
body that fits into a “mortised” slot in the edge of the door. For
a better idea of how a mortised lockset fits into your door, watch the video below,
If you're not sure about the difference, please watch the short video below:
Surface mount locksets fit onto your door through a series
of holes that you drill. This allows the actuating devices (spindles) to go from
the outside latch to the inside latch to make them function. The inside and outside
latches of a surface mount lockset fit onto the inside and outside surfaces of
the door. Back

How do I know if this hardware will fit
my current door?
First, visit our Hardware
Replacement Page to determine which type of hardware is the best mechanical
replacement of your current hardware.
Once you’ve found the replacement
lockset that’s right for you, you’ll then want to check trim plate
dimensions. On each product feature page, you’ll find a link called Trim
Plate Dimensions. Clicking on this link will open a PDF file with a outline of
the trim plate(s) for the particular hardware you’re considering. Print
this page out, and hold it up to your door to make sure that the trim plate on
the new hardware will cover any holes already drilled in your door for your existing
hardware.

What is a PVD Lifetime Finish?
PVD
(physical vapor deposition) is coating process that builds a film over the product
being coated (such as your storm door lockset). PVD finishes are hard and resistant
to corrosion. Any surface coated with a PVD Lifetime finish is guaranteed never
to rust, tarnish, or corrode, even in harsh environments or salt applications.

How do I clean my lockset?
We
recommend soap and water. No abrasive cleaners are necessary and, most importantly,
you should never use ammonia-based cleaners (such as window-cleaning products). Back

Is the installation process very
difficult?
Installation usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour and requires
moderate tool and mechanical skills. On each product page, you will find Installation
Instructions that you can print out and read. We recommend that all customers
read installation instructions before purchasing any type of door hardware. Back

What tools will I need for installation?
Different
models may require different tools for installation. To see what tools will be
necessary to install a specific lockset, go to the Installation Instructions (available
on each product page). Please be sure to note that power screw drivers should
never be used to install door hardware, and doing so will void your warranty. Back

Can the lock be modified by a locksmith
to match my other door locks?
The Charleston has a standard Kwikset keyway;
if your door also has a Kwikset keyway, most locksmiths can key the two locks
the same. If your other doors use a Schlage keyway, you can buy a Schlage keyway
for the Charleston that can later be modified by a locksmith to be keyed-alike.
Our
surface mount locksets cannot be modified by a locksmith to match other door locks.
